this week.
A few photos from our week:
We went to a birthday party at a cool bar called Raven. That's our friend Jeff - he's from NC too!
I had a couple of exciting job interviews. Blazer power.
We enjoyed a burrito picnic in Yerba Buena Gardens.
Yes, I'm still wearing backwards hats.
I ate Beard Papa pastries with a new friend Ellen. She's from Belgium too.
We went to Sugar Cafe with the TwitSpark team and scored the coveted fireside sofas.
Poor quality photo, awesome quality guys - John and Davy.
Sorry guy whose butt will forever be pictured on this post.
We finished off our Friday with a late-night date to The Avengers, complete with snuck-in sodas & snacks. I tend to like pretty much every movie I see so my opinion doesn't hold much weight in my friends' eyes, but I thought it was awesome. Then again, I'm easily entertained. All in all, it's been a really great week!

late night Lombard.
On Monday evening we rented a Zipcar for a shopping trip across the bridge to Ikea & Target. When we got back into the city and unloaded all of our stuff, we still had a half hour left on our car reservation. After a high-focused 2-minute conversation about where we should drive with our precious 30 minutes, we decided on Lombard Street, the famously crooked road.
I felt giddy like a kid in the passenger's seat as we approached the top of the street, where you can see so much of the city. We rolled down our windows and I actually said "weee" on the way down (an emblem of true fun). Lombard has eight hairpin turns down a very steep hill in just one block's distance. Finn even did some really swervy driving for one portion, a technique that always guarantees a hearty laugh out of me thanks to years of conditioning by my big brother Lee.
Being 10:30 at night on a Monday, there was no line to wait in (a factor which people often complain about) & the city was all lit up and looking gorgeous. And because it was so last minute, we had no expectations which usually makes mini adventures more fun in my opinion. We couldn't have planned it better if we had tried! We drove down once more before heading back to return the car. I'm thankful to be in San Francisco and especially thankful to live here with Finn. He has an up-for-anything attitude & makes little things infinitely more fun. It's funny how driving down some hill feels like a date when you're in love.

dog friends.
This past weekend, I went to a start-up BBQ in the Presidio with Davy and Finn. The BBQ was a networking event, hosted by a San Francisco-based startup and was full of business savvy, driven, impressive young individuals. There were plenty of great conversations going on, but there were also two dogs.
Have you ever seen this illustration, by Gemma Correll?
Because this was me (minus the drunk part).
I tried to pet//hold//be near the two dogs for a large portion of the event. There I was, creeping up behind shoulders of those in conversation, letting the little curly one lick my cup cake wrapper (an act of desperation), and literally crawling on the floor in front of people I don't know to take the pictures seen below.
I didn't realize how much time I spent pursuing these little cuties until today when I was looking through my photos. It made me laugh out loud. Thankfully, I did retain some semblance of manners & adult behavior, managing to chat with a few humans too, and even made an introduction on behalf of the boys.
An undercover Snow White I'll always be...befriending the animal kingdom one uninterested dog at a time!
